I’m finally done with this book. I have been reading this book since June. The book is really good until you get to all the political stuff. If you love politics then this book is for you. He goes into a lot of details about things happening in the white house while he was there. Some of it was really interesting other parts were so boring that it took me so long to read this book. Besides all the many pages of blah blah blah politics. This book was really good. I never knew all that a president does on a day-to-day basis. And all that they go through to make it to be president. Good book but there are chapters that are very slow read.
I loved every part of this book. When it comes to mystery and not being able to figure out a book. This is it. This book has all types of twists and turns. This book kept me on my feet the whole time I was reading it. This book will not disappoint you at all.
This book had me on the first page. I have seen people called names because of the color of their skin. I have seen people bullied and made fun of because of the color of their skin. Maleeka tries so hard to fit in and just wants to be liked. But the color of her skin and the homemade clothes that her mother makes for her is hard to fit in. Char and the twins are supposed to be friends with Maleeka but Char just bullies her. And John-John who she has a class with just won’t leave her alone. He has even gone so far as making a song about her and her black skin. But a new teacher comes in and changes the way Maleeka sees herself and who she hangs around. Peer pressure is real and when you try your hardest to fit in but people make it hard for you. Well at some point enough has to be enough. I truly enjoyed this book.
This book is about a boy who has this reoccurring dream. He’s a shepherd by trade. He goes to this gypsy lady to have her interrupt the dream. It only disappointed him. Then he meets a king that told him all about his past and family. He goes on a journey to Personal Legend. Will he find it or give up the search?
This book reminds me that we are all looking for our purpose in life. Sometimes we give up because we are comfortable where we are. But others keep searching until they find it. I would recommend anyone to read this book.
Words can’t express how much I needed to read this book. I had heard a lot of great reviews regarding this book, but I wasn’t prepared for what I was about to read. I love all the different stories shared in this book about trauma, abuse, and neglect. We don’t know what healing can look like if we never tried to heal ourselves. This book was very personal to me. We have all been through something and healing is the hard part. This book shows how the bottom of the brain process everything before it even gets to the top. I would truly recommend this book to anyone who is needing to heal.
This is my first time reading a book by this author. And I must say that I will be reading more of her books. So let’s dive into this book. It’s about a girl named Drue whose mother passes away and her estranged father show’s up at her mother’s funeral. The worse part of all is she hasn’t seen her dad in a long time. And come to find out her dad is married to her eighth-grade friend.
She finds out that her mom has left her the family cottage and her dad want’s her to work at his law office with him because they are short-staffed. Working for her father is not a good idea, but what other choice does she have right now.
She and her stepmother are not getting along at all at her new job because she is always late. And to make matters worse she doesn’t really enjoy working on the justice hotline. One day she has to work upfront at the receptionist desk and a lady comes in looking for her dad.
She can’t figure out why this lady won’t just make an appointment to see her dad, and why she insists on waiting. To make a long story short her dad worked on this lady case. Her daughter ends up dead at her job and the insurance company gives her mother pennies. To add the grandmother is now taking care of her daughters, daughter. The money is put in a trust and can’t be used. The grandmother feels like Drue’s dad ripped her off and that her daughter’s murder is more than what they are telling her.
Drue decides to investigate this case on her own. Well, let’s just say that all the twists and turns in this story will have you on the edge of your seat. This story is a story inside a story. This book was a true page-turner.
When I tell you that this book is everything, this book is everything. There were a few stories that I could relate to. This book is very eye-opening to what people are dealing with in secret. I truly loved this book. It made me cry and mad that people have to go through all types of trauma and racial disparities. This book should be a must-read for everyone. If you don’t feel something after reading this book then you’re not human. This is a book that you have to read slow and digest everything that is being said.
This book was everything. Okay maybe not everything, but I really enjoyed this book. This book was full of twist and turns. A body has been found in the corn fields and it turns out it’s a friend of Sergeant Riley Fisher. Not only have they found a body in the cornfields, but people start coming up missing. This book is truly a page turner. It has you on the edge of your chair trying to understand why all of this is happening. I thought that I had this mystery figured out. But trust me it’s not what you think.
I have never read a Nicholas Sparks book before. I love the movie the Notebook so much that I had to read one of his books. Well let me say that this book did not disappoint at all. I love, love. This book was about a woman who had moved back to her mom’s home town when her mother passed away. She has a son who has problems with speaking. One night coming home it was raining hard and a deer was in the middle of road. She doesn’t want to hit the deer so she swerves to miss the deer only to end up in a ditch. She was awakened by a volunteer firefighter who was trying to help her out the car. Once things came back to her she realized that her son wasn’t in the car anymore. Thus begins this love story.
Okay let me just say this. I love that I get a chance to review other people’s books. But this author lite a fire in me to continue with my book. Let me just start by saying this is a book I wouldn’t have otherwise read if the author didn’t send it to me. I love to read books but what I realized with this book is that I limit myself on what I read. Not anymore. I read this book in three days. From the beginning of the book I couldn’t put it down. Let me tell you I’m pretty good at knowing how a story will end, but not with this book. So let me tell you a little about this book. The book is about a boy named Bryan who ends up losing his friend Deonte. Deonte dies trying to save Bryan. Bryan becomes haunted my what his friend did for him. He can’t sleep and keeps having nightmare’s regarding the event. It gets so bad that his mom scheduled him to get help. After talking with a therapist she says that he needs a vacation with his stepdad. I forgot to add that he doesn’t get along with his stepdad. He thinks he’s weird and is always on the phone. Byran agrees to the vacation and his mom sets it up. So his stepdad, grandfather and Bryan go to a amusement park. But this is no ordinary amusement park. What he felt like could be a good time ended up being something that would change his life forever. Bryan wasn’t a confident person at all. But in the end he gets a girl and gains respect for his stepdad. Not everything is what it may seem to be. This was a page turner for sure.
