Struggling to understand:

I’m struggling to put into words how I’m feeling about all that is going on right now. When are we going to stop hating each other? When will skin color not matter anymore? When will someone being different not matter anymore? What has happened to love and being excepting of others? Stop Asian hate. How about we stop the hate period! And then there was the mass shooting in Colorado. I’m not understanding at all how you can have that much energy to do evil and not good? What is truly going on with people? It’s more than a mental health issue. I believe we need to start caring more for people and showing it. The words we speak have consequences and we need to take a moment to think about what we are putting out. So many people have died for no reason at all. Just because someone got up that morning and decided that they were not that important to live anymore. This hurts so much. When will this madness end? I’m tired of seeing people (period) dying. It doesn’t matter your skin color. When will common sense kick in? This is troubling, to say the least, and I don’t know how to make things better. Trust if I did I would. We can all agree to disagree without killing one another.

  1. There definitely seems to be an increase of a spirit of hatred toward one another. There definitely seems to be more divisiveness and contention over a spirit of love and compassion one toward another. Despite such conditions, I have come to believe that it all begins with how we embrace who we are individually. Authentic love has been replaced with a shallow selfish kind of love. Hate is all around because of a way of life being adopted by many people that is more self-centered and self-serving than it is toward being selfless and humble in caring for one another. It also does not help that our culture appears to engage in a frenzy feeding at the trough of hatred and divisiveness.

I guess, hatred toward one another stops when we truly embrace who we are individually and reach out from that sense of authentic love in a selfless way.

      1. I have learned that true peace comes from within our own true authentic self. I am not able to control another person as much as I am able to control a storm. How I choose to respond and manage my own thoughts and emotions is what I am able to control.

  2. I truly believe only God’s Kingdom will fix this mess by ridding this world of the wicked. People are getting worse and not better. They’re getting more and more callus to the feelings and needs of others and they just don’t care about the precious gift of life. I have so much hope in Psalms 37:10,11 which says, “Just a little while longer, and the wicked will be no more; You will look at where they were, And they will not be there. But the meek will possess the earth, And they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.” That peace is coming we just have to hold on.
