Okay, so I have a question for all my published writers out there. When you completed your first book, was it easy or just as hard to write the second and third book? What have you done differently for the other books that you didn’t do for the first one? Have you learned that the publishing part of it has gotten easier? Does the writing get easier?
For me it was much more difficult, since my first published works were academic articles and books, while I now want to publish novels. I find non-fiction writing much easier, in book form, because it merely needs to be researched and formatted correctly, while other forms of writing need to make an emotional impact, which is much more difficult, in my opinion. And then there is publishing a novel, which is more difficult than publishing in academia, in my experience.

I definitely got more comfortable with the process. The writing itself didn’t necessarily get easier, but I felt more like I had a bit of a clue what I was doing.

I’ve heard that before. The writing doesn’t get easier but what you’re doing does.

Yes after your first book it does become easier. Hang in there you are learning more than you realize.

The first book is definitely a learning process. I think you pay more attention to your content and your writing improves. The process is not a quick one though! 🙂
